You are getting some seriously good wheels for your money here. The deep section rims are based around the d2 rim shape which the brand says offers the best aero performance in both head and crosswinds. If you want the rim deep for aero you don t need to go that deep. Deep section aero wheels offer some of the biggest speed gains you can find along with your helmet and clothing.

They re well made and come with excellent internals plus you can run them tubeless. Wide and rounded is best. The pacenti sl23 and kinlin xc279 are in the sweet spot for aluminum rims. The rim is made from durable alloy and measures 23 mm wide and 37 mm deep.

Choose wheels from 13 inch to 26 inch diameters select lightweight aluminum or high strength steel construction and complete the look with polished matte or chrome finishes. Deep section rims range from around 30 mm. Carbon fiber rims provide the best benefit of a deeper aero profile without the weight penalty of an aluminum rim. If you want to go deeper you are better off with the latest generation carbon.

These are heavier but are cheaper than a complete carbon rim owing to lower manufacturing and development costs. It comes in a black anodized finish. Carbon rims can be built much deeper than aluminum rims but with much less weight than a similar profle aluminum rim. Some deep section wheels feature a carbon fairing placed over an aluminum rim.
